This course is part of the Iguana Training Series, a set of private courses that cover an array of interfacing concepts in Iguana.

In this course, we are going to take a closer look at the major features and tools in Iguana that help you to build and maintain interfaces.

There are several major skills involved in successful interfacing: building/customizing the interface, running/monitoring the interface, troubleshooting/maintaining the interface.

Building/Customizing

The Iguana Translator is a special scripting environment decked out with several powerful development tools. Whenever you want to transform, translate, or map data as it flows from one system to another, you will use the Translator to access and manipulate the data behind the scenes.

Running/Monitoring

The Iguana Dashboard is your central console where you start and stop channels, monitor channel performance, and access all other system tools.

Troubleshooting/Maintenance

How will you diagnose and correct errors when an interface is in production? Iguana Logs and Settings provide an efficient workflow for setting things right. The robust logging system is a quick and easy way to pinpoint errors and troubleshoot performance issues. Use Iguana's system settings to set up servers, email notifications, and other important administrative tasks.

Optionally, you may choose to start by tackling the basic overview of the software's main features in the Iguana First Steps course. It's about 30 minutes to give you a good feel for how Iguana works before we dive into some of the details.

Otherwise, let's get started on your Iguana journey.
